This really is a unique opportunity because you’ll go on a 4 day snowshoehikingtrip from a fix base, remotely located in a typical  Montafoner farmhouse. Four days of peace and quiet, snow and good company. The native Edith will get you acquainted with Montafoner cooking, for she will teach you how to prepare a smacker Käsespätzle or show you the details as to how the local sweet pastries are made.

Day 1

From the trainstation in Schruns we head for the farmhouse where we stowe away our things and get acquainted with the snowshoes on a hike nearby the house.

In the evening we help out Edith and discuss our plans for the next day.

Day 2

We start out with a delicious breakfast with local products that Edith prepares for us. Then we take the bus to Gargellen where we’ll discover the Valzifenztal.

When we come back to the house, you can relax in your room or at the Kamin in the Stube.

In the evening we gear up again to snowshoehike in the darkness. Maybe we’ll spot some wildlife, if we’re really quiet. A nice Schnaps will top off this beautiful day and will prepare you for a good night’s rest .

Day 3

Just like on the day before, we prepare our lunch at the breakfasttable. We take a bus to Bartholomäberg where we’ll overcome quite some altimeters. If the skies are blue, we will get to see Tirol, Switzerland and the Piz Buin, Vorarlbergs highest mountain.

Late in the afternoon, when we arrive back at ‘basecamp’ a nice hot shower will get you in relaxmode.

Day 4

After breakfast we pack our things and say goodbye to Edith. As we hike to the busstop we imprint this gorgeous spot in our minds. In Schruns we head for a last Kaffee und Kuchen at the Kirchplatz.
