Snowshoehiking in Bartholomäberg is truly fantastic! If on this day the weather can be described as Kaiserwetter, you will be bathing in the sun and get to see as far as all the way to Tirol, Switzerland and the Piz Buin, the highest mountain of our province. If it’s so called Inversionswetter then you will be hiking above the clouds that spread out like a sea beneath you. It’s called a Nebelmeer; a sea of clouds.
We are going to cover quite some altimeters today as we hike through the meadows with the typical Montafoner Maisäße (former summerfarms) and up through forests where we get to see see wildtracks. An absolute highlight is viewpoint Ganzaleita: You will find a gap of hundreds of meters beneath you. Your standpoint is safe though, you can even take pictures and drink a hot coco from where you are standing.
Our way back takes us through the forest to Kristberg where we end our hike with a cup of soup. We return to Bartholomäberg with public transportation.
