About Almstübli Bergerlebnis

We are Bonny Neven (birthyear ‘78) and Danny Kauwenberg (birthyear ’72), a married couple and we make a little family with our furry friends “Pieke” the cat and an Australian Shepherd called “Nika”.
Our love for the mountains and everything you can undertake there is so great that, after a career in the Netherlands, we decided to quit our jobs and move to Austria in October 2019. What a good decision it was to follow our hearts and take upon the adventure! It is wonderful to be surrounded by this beautiful mountain scenery.
We started our hiking guide company in Montafon (Province Vorarlberg). Due to career opportunities we moved our homebase to Carinthia (Bad Kleinkirchheim). In time our plan is to also offer a unique guesthouse. For this we were inspired by the experience (in german erlebnis) of freedom and nearness of nature when we stayed in a farmhouse (in dialect stüble) on a meadow (in dialect an alm) in the Austrian mountains; hence the name Almstübli Bergerlebnis.
Bonny’s experience with mountainhiking started in 2004 and since then expanded to heavy daytours, klettersteigen and multiple-day hikes to mountainhuts. “The beauty of mountain nature, challenging yourself physically and the peace and quiet it brings to your mind is absolutely fantastic to me!”
We like to enthusiast people to get active in the mountains and would like to guide them during that. Therefor Bonny is educated to mountainhikingguide by the Vorarlberger Bergführerverband (an education certified by the state). We put our experience and enthusiasm to use to guide you to have a great mountain hiking experience in Montafon.
We’ve noticed that a lot of people would like to go hut-to-hut-hiking on their own. This inspired us to offer a service were we arrange everything for you and you undertake this tour on your own. In case of trouble, I’m a phonemail away to help you. With passion, decisiveness and a sense of humor we will turn it into a great experience!
